Angela Brower returns to the Bayerische Staatsoper stage this month, as Dorabella in Mozart’s sparkling comedy Così fan tutte, November 20, 22 & 24. This is a signature role for Ms. Brower, whose previous portrayals have been lauded by critics:
“Angela Brower (Dorabella), thanks to her exemplary concentration, the most mature technician there- and her natural look would ravish any director.” (Münchner Merkur)
“The American Dorabella, Angela Brower, carves each line incisively through the texture . . .” (Classical-music.com)
This inventive production features Golda Schultz as Fiordiligi, Michael Nagy as Guglielmo, Paolo Fanale as Ferrando, and Tara Erraught sings Despina, with Christopher Mailman as Don Alfonso. Constantin Trinks takes the podium, for this Jürgen Rose directed production. Angela can also be heard as Dorabella on a Deutsche Grammophon recording of Mozart’s Così fan tutte from the 2012 Baden-Baden Festival, now available for purchase via Amazon.
