Angela Brower returns to the Bayerische Staatsoper early this spring for two spectacular roles. First up is her portrayal of Nicklausse/Muse in Offenbach’s fantastical work Les Contes d’Hoffmann. Her previous outings of the role have been lauded as “exceptional” and “brilliant.” Performances take place March 28 & 31 and April 4, and also feature Rolando Villazón as Hoffmann and Christian van Horn as the Four Villains. Hoffmann’s love interests are sung by Jane Archibald (Olympia), Brenda Rae (Giulietta), and Serena Farnocchia (Antonia) in this Richard Jones staging, with Constantin Trinks leading from the pit.

Ms. Brower will also debut the title role in Rossini’s effervescent La Cenerentola on a special tour with the Staatsoper, with performances taking place at the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman on April 24 & 26. She is joined by Antonino Siragusa as Don Ramiro, her Prince Charming, Vito Priante as Dandini, and Lorenzo Regazzo as Don Magnifico. Antonello Allemandi leads the Bayerisches Staatsorchester and the Chor der Bayerischen Staatsoper in their beautiful and ever-popular Jean-Pierre Ponnelle production.
