‘Cosi fan tutte’ in Paris
This month, Angela Brower reprises her acclaimed role as Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Opéra national de Paris.
Brower’s portrayal of Dorabella first garnered widespread recognition in 2009, when she was awarded the Munich Opera Festival Prize. Since then, she has brought this role to life at prestigious venues worldwide, including the Opéra Royal de Versailles, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and Salzburger Festspiele.
In this production by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, dance and music are intricately intertwined, with each singer paired with a dancer to highlight the characters’ innermost desires and conflicting emotions. Under the direction of conductor Pablo Heras-Casado, the cast also includes Vannina Santoni as Fiordiligi, Hera Hyesang Park as Despina, Josh Lovell as Ferrando, Gordon Bintner as Guglielmo, and Paulo Szot as Don Alfonso.
You can catch these performances on June 10, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 26, July 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.
