‘Hänsel und Gretel’ at Bayerische Staatsoper

On December 2, 7, and 8, Angela Brower takes the stage at the Bayerische Staatsoper as Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel.

Previously seen at The Metropolitan Opera and Welsh National Opera, Richard Jones’ acclaimed production offers a dark interpretation of the beloved fairytale, spotlighting its themes of hunger, greed, and survival.

Joining Ms. Brower on stage are Mirjam Mesak as Gretel, Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke as the Witch, Milan Siljanov as Peter, Rosie Aldridge as Gertrud, Ekaterine Buachidze as the Sandman, and Eirin Rognerud as the Dew Fairy, with Robert Jindra leading the orchestra.
