‘La clemenza di Tito’ in concert

Angela Brower returns to the Endinburgh International Festival on August 9, appearing as Sesto in Mozart’s political thriller, La clemenza di Tito. It’s an opera that’s played an important role in Brower’s career; of a previous performance as Sesto, Bachtrack said, “Angela Brower plays Sesto’s range of emotions with poignant genuineness… Her voice reveals an impressive array of colours and textures, and she throws off the triplets in “Parto, parto” with enviable ease.” She has also bowed as Annio, appearing in that role at the Royal Danish Opera, Royal Ballet and Opera, and Opéra national de Paris.
Brower joins an excellent cast for this concert production, with Maxim Emelyanychev leading the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Giovanni Sala appears in the title role, with Tara Erraught as Vitellia, Hera Hyesang Park as Servilia, Maria Warenberg as Annio, and Peter Kálmán as Publio.
