Role debut as Cendrillon

From the Brothers Grimm to Walt Disney’s Cinderella, the story of the girl who is bullied by her hateful stepmother and nasty stepsisters and ends up breaking out into a fantasy world is one of the most popular fairy tales of all. David Hermann’s production premiered at the Opéra de Nancy in December 2019 and will be performed this February and March at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt under the musical direction of Nicholas Carter.

Angela Brower makes her greatly awaited role debut as Cendrillon in Massenet’s retelling of the beloved fairy tale. In magical dreamy imagery, the protagonists transport us away from the atmosphere of everyday life and open up the fairy tale, to children as well as adults, as a wistful escape from a seemingly unimaginative world.

The performances take place from February 6 – March 31 and Ms. Brower is joined by Virginie Verrez as Le Prince Charmant, Agnes Zwierko as Madame de la Haltière, Keri Fuge as Noémie, Feride Büyükdenktas as Dorothée, Marian Pop as Pandolfe, Olga Dyadiv as La Fée and Karl Huml as Le Roi.
